While we recognize that not everyone seeks acknowledgment for their contributions in advancing the quality of life in Hume, the Council acknowledges the profound impact that recognition can have on fostering a sense of pride in one’s accomplishments, as well as motivating others to follow suit.
The upcoming ‘I Love Hume – Hume Community Awards 2023’ offer an opportunity for residents to showcase their values pertaining to community spirit and pride. This occasion introduces an array of fresh award categories thoughtfully designed to better align with the diverse qualities of Hume’s populace.
In an effort to genuinely honour the distinctive achievements of Hume’s residents, the Hume Community Awards will now take centre stage as the premier annual event for acknowledging community contributions, thereby superseding the Australia Day Awards held on January 26th.
Nominations are at present being accepted across a spectrum of eight categories, encompassing:
- Academic Excellence
- Advocacy and Social Justice
- Arts and Creative Expression
- Community Service Excellence
- Environmental Stewardship
- Outstanding Cultural Leadership
- Outstanding Community Leadership
- Sports and Recreation Achievement
